Description
This is an extraordinary opportunity to acquire an Extremely Rare Specimen; an Unopened 1946 4/5 Quart Collectable Decanter of "Schenley Order of Merit 15 Year Old Aged Fine Whiskey" with its Original Red Velvet Sack in PRISTINE CONDITION, it's ORIGINAL white box in good condition and "Certificate of Age" affixed to the reverse. The Oval Decanter Exhibits Raised Relief Embossments Located At Both Sides and Features Very Ornate Gold Painted Designs Throughout. The Tax Bands Are All Complete Indicating the Date of 1946. Also, A Regal Purple Ribbon is Positioned At the Neck With the Order of Merit Royal Coat of Arms Gold Insignia Inlayed Into the Decanter At The Front and Reverse Sides. The design is certainly a work of art. The reverse side "Certificate of Age" reads as follows: "This Canadian Whisky was Placed in Small Charred White Oak Casks in Sept. 1946. It Remained in Those Oak Casks in Climate-Controlled Ageing Rooms Until it Was Bottled in Sept. 1961 Bottle No. P 94465" The Facsimile signatures of the President and Master Distiller are clearly indicated. This Full 4/5 Quart Collectable Decanter is in PRISTINE CONDITION and is extremely elusive due to its age and the fact that the majority of them have simply been exhausted in their day. Moreover, the Schenley Canadian Distillery that this bottle was produced at (Salaberry-De-Valleyfield, Quebec), was opened one year prior to the date of this bottle in 1945. This will be a magnificent addition for the discriminating collector or connoisseur. Due to the rareity of the item and current postal regulations - There is NO SHIPPING on this item. It MUST BE PICKED UP. PLEASE NOTE: eBAY'S ALCOHOL POLICY IS STATED VERBATIM BELOW AS REQUIRED. Collectible Containers We will permit sales of unopened collectible containers that still contain alcohol as long as each of the following conditions are met and stated verbatim in the listing: The value of the item is in the collectible container, not its contents. (Bottles of wine are not permitted, as their value is generally based on the wine in the bottle rather than the bottle itself.) The container has not been opened and any incidental contents are not intended for consumption. The item is not available at any retail outlet, and the container has a value that substantially exceeds the current retail price of the alcohol in the container. The seller will take all appropriate steps to ensure that the buyer is of lawful age in the buyer and seller's jurisdiction (generally 21 years of age). Buyers and sellers both ensure that the sale complies with all applicable laws and shipping regulations. Alcohol-Related Collectibles eBay permits the sale of alcohol-related collectibles, including alcohol-related memorabilia, packaging and containers such as bottles, decanters or limited edition cans (provided you comply with the above collectible container sale guidelines).
