This bottle was found with a cork inside, I guess we will never know if it was the orginal but it is fun to think so. This bottle has a narrow tapering neck, it also has a narrow applied overlapping string rim.  This bottle measures 7 inches tall and the base is 5 inches across.  This bottle has a nice shine. This bottle is one from a collection of 150 onion bottles that will be auctioned off over the next few weeks. I collected these bottles over a 5 year period while living in Guyana. This collection of bottles was recovered from the Essequibo river in Guyana while diving off the banks of fort Island. Fort Island has the ruins of a Dutch Fort that was built in the early 1700. Fort Island was the seat of Government of the country during the Dutch colonial era.  The condition of this bottle is excellent. This bottle has no other chips, dings, or cracks.  This bottle has some internal stains that should clean out easily.  There is some typical surface wear and abrasions on this bottle. This bottle has never been cleaned. This bottle has a nice shine and should polish up nicely if desired.     If you are looking for a distinguished, unpolished, and legitimate early 18th century wine bottle, they don’t get much better.
