Description
This unusual flask has the look of a larger barrel. 8" tall, and 5.25 wide at the widest point. What would be barrel bands were actually lathed into the wood. The ends and maybe even the top and bottom rims are added or fit into the main body. I do now know how they made this, really. There is an old cork still in a hole; I dare not remove it. And there are holes in one end as was normal. I have seen U.S. Civil War era flasks this size, but usually they were flatter. But this flask would hold liquor, water, or maybe even gunpowder, and be very portable in the field. GOOD LUCK BIDDING!
