For several years Pierre Voisin distilled and matured brandy from the Tarsac property. They were stored in wineries in Bardinal, at the foot of the Genté village. In 1970, with Olivier Blanc, he founded the business, LEOPOLD GOURMEL. Here, with the help of his family, he developed and distributed cognacs, for over twenty years, to several countries. In 1990, the family sold the Gourmel business. Just three years later, Oilvier Blanc bought the entire business. With a new team behind him, a new global network and a more contemporary approach, Leopold Gourmel cognacs soon gained world wide recognition. Leopold Gourmel had a clear and logic vision. Firstly the wine must be aromatic, made from ripe grapes, loaded with fresh fruity flavours. Leopold Gourmel selected his vineyards, ensuring they were of the best quality first cru. After the careful maturity process, the wines are distilled, respectful of each of their origins. The distillation process is adapted to each type of wine.
