A few light scratches remain near the base in a small area that are not easily noticeable without a magnifying glass. As I went over this inkwell with a magnifying glass I did detect one pinhead, an I mean pinhead sized, flake on a horizontal corner near the base. Overall this is a very nice umbrella inkwell in a good strong and dark color. The color is darker and richer than the pictures show. Pictures show a some black in the color but I will assure you its a true emerald green and not olive, its a good one with a nice ring open pontil.
