Description
Melted Cobalt Blue Milk of Magnesia Bottle This bottle is 5.75” in length and perhaps is the six-ounce size. It is intact with no chips or missing areas. It is a nice cobalt blue color and has developed a few small iridescent areas. It is unmarked except for an “M” on the bottom. It is a great conversation piece and NOT modern glass than has been sagged or melted in a ceramic kiln About 20 years ago I was doing an environmental assessment of an industrial site in Fayette, Alabama. We had to excavate part of the site since it was an old trash dump. The area had been used for municipal waste from about 1920 to 1960 before the days of landfills. I interviewed the old man who managed the site from about the 30s until it closed. He told me that each week’s trash was piled up and he used 5 gallons of diesel fuel to set it afire. After the flames died down he would use a bulldozer to push the hot ashes over a hillside. Apparently this bottle melted or rather sagged from the heat and cooled off at a slow enough rate to prevent shattering. I’m selling it as is. Please look carefully at the photos. If you want more details of certain areas, please let me know and I’ll send additional photos. I accept Paypal, money orders, and personal checks. Items paid for by Paypal or US Postal money orders will be shipped within 48 hours. Personal checks must clear before shipping. Shipping and insurance are extra. If you are not pleased with this item, please email and we'll make arrangements for the item's return and a refund.
