Helme Co of New Jersey Patented July 16 1872.Jar is smaller than a quart size,and dark amber The metal lid holder is rusty and has been removed from jar.Jar is sealed with rubber ring but empty,from the looks of the ring it has been sealed a long time I have not tried to remove Im not familiar with this type lid.two small chips on outside lid but it is so dark it would not show up in picture, very good condition for age.
