There are 255 pages including index. This fabulous publication reveals the contents of the patent medicines sold in the snake oil era of American Quackery. This turn-of-the-century edition is favored by buyers because it is revised and enlarged and has many entries not in previous editions. It was issued in the last few years proceeding the drug act of 1906 which made big changes in the pharmaceutical industry. Many of the big names in cures and patent medicines are there, such as Warner's Safe Cure, Radam's Microbe Killer, etc. Hair bottle formulas are there, too along with liniments, plasters and other forms of medication and specialty quackery. There is no table of contents and the listings are in alphabetical order. In addition to formulas there is a considerable amount of commentary etc. on the various subject areas. What is the difference between our reprints and the others? There is a big difference. One of the first pages in a book by the largest publisher of reprints is used for their caveat, which states "there may be defects such as missing pages, erroneous pagination, blurred pages, missing text, poor pictures, markings, marginalia and other issues beyond our control." This is because their reprints are printed from film. Our books are hand scanned and then each page is hand edited. The finished product is usually better than the original. Also, the big publishers use generic titling on their covers. Whenever possible we use a replica of the original cover. Many of the books we offer in reprint have lots of illustrations which are noticeably better than book printed from film.
