Just like similar examples used by British firms, it carries the underglaze logo of a milkmaid, carrying her bucket. The top portion is glazed with a rich brown glaze and the handle is well modelled. It has the size “4 LB” impressed under the handle. There are just two chips on the upper surface of the rim, as shown and numbered below. Number one is extremely shallow, more of a graze than a chip. Number two is on the top edge right next to an underglaze chip on the outer edge. Neither detract seriously from the piece, which would be a charming addition to any collection of butter crocks. (Please note that at 2.5kg or so, packed, this is a heavy item, hence the high shipping charge, which is based on the actual cost of postage.
