Description
Here is a very rare Wisconsin pottery or stoneware beer bottle. It dates to around 1875-1880. It is a very large bottle measuring 10 inches in height. I guess you would call it a quart bottle. It has the name GRAY stamped on one shoulder and a large blue cross case marker on the other. It is from Janesville Wisconsin where Joshua and Charles Gray started their bottling works in 1854. This bottle would have been used for weiss beer. It is twelve sided and in great condition for coming out of the river right outside of Janesville. See the supersize pics for closer detail. It has only one flaw that I can see as it took a light hit under the word GRAY. This is one crude pottery bottle with a neck that slightly leans to one side. A great early Wisconsin bottle. I accept money orders and paypal and payment is expected withing 5 days of close. Thanks and Good Luck!
