It is heavily embossed “PABST / BREWING CO / WASHINGTON / BRANCH”. The rear base is embossed “ THIS BOTTLE / NOT TO BE SOLD”. This is a crude bubbly bottle, with an unusual raised ring molded around the neck. I saw one of these variants in a Virginia antique shop about twenty years ago. I asked my DC collector freinds and found no one had heard of this bottle before, but when I returned to buy the bottle it was gone, and I haven’t seen one again until this one turned up. This is probably the earliest of the Pabst Depot Washington DC bottles, dating to the 1891-1895 era. There is an open air bubble on the left side seam shown in the photos, that is white in appearance. There is also an open air bubble on the right side seam, and some exterior ground wear.
