This jar dates from before the turn of the century and is a Quart canning jar with a glass lid and swing over bail closure. It is about 7 ¾ inches tall by 4 inches across the front by about 3 inches deep. It is OVAL in shape, not round. It has an embossed Crown with laurel wreath, banner, and flags at each side. KING – is embossed on the banner. It has embossed markings around the bottom that read; SMALLEY, KIVLAN & ONTHANK – BOSTON MASS. Embossed at the top neck front and back; TIGHT.
