Description
Measuring 4 15/16" tall, this open pontiled American made cologne bottle dates from circa 1835 and depicts in two frames on one side, two Dancing Indians and on the reverse two ovals with sunbursts above and floral relief(s) below. A beautiful heavy open pontil, perfect inward flared lip, aqua color, unusual shape, great detail of craftsmanship from a very early era in American blown glass. Completely free of damage, this rare cologne was purchased at a yard sale at Sandwich, Cape Cod, Massachusetts with several other early bottles back in 1977. An old sticker on the bottom refers to "No. 5 plate 244" referencing an early bottle guide. Your satisfaction is guaranteed or your money back.
