Description
blueglass1bugcollector Store Dont miss your once in a lifetime chance to purchase one  of these really rare and beautiful French Demijohns !                    This auction is just for ONE ONLY of the 6 shown ******************************************************************************** The winning bidder will get to choose whatever one of the 6 bottles they like the best...and will be shown  individual closeups after the auction closes to help them decide *********************************************************************************************** This auction constitutes a fresh untouched and singular discovery recently made in Northern France...the very area where this style of FREEBLOWN demi was created by french glassblowers used between 1840-60            I was notified of this unusual find and was able to purchase all 6  My first thought was that I would probably like to keep them all for 2 reasons: 1) I had to pay a tidy sum to get them and to have them safely shipped...and 2) I didn't really care about selling any, because they are all slightly different and look so amazing....... But decided after all to at least give my good ebay customers a chance at them  _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The photos provided show the 6 bottles I have all sitting on the same table. But there are some added photos too....as found in Willy Van den Bossche's book- Antique Glass Bottles (Plate 273) where the exact same type of bottles are described as: French- (Alsace and Jura area) or Swiss( Fluhh) storage bottle- 1840-60 Freeblown in the old 'base starter' method ( not requiring a pontil )...same as the old Dutch method so often seen                                                  -Capacity about 11 litres- Snapped off lip- laid on ring                                                  -Amazingly all the laid on rings are uniquely different  Glass color referred to by Van den Bossche as 'verre noir'- Black Glass...but red amber ______________________________________________________________ Once again, although you can see a photo of 6 bottles on the table...the auction is just for ONE of them...any one that you want to choose...( after the auction closes). Winner will get a special set of photos to help them decide ______________________________________________________________                           ALL 6 BOTTLES ARE MINT **********************************************************+ POSTAGE TO BE DETERMINED AT END OF AUCTION DEPENDING ON LOCATION ETC. OVERSEAS POSTAGE IS VERY EXPENSIVE. PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE BEFORE YOU BID. ALL SALES FINAL                                 I will possibly list a few more of these demijohns in the same fashion I have listed this one
