"STAR BASE WAX SEALER"' Description Here for your antique fruit jar collection is one I can't find in the red book. The star is very thick & bold on base as shown from inside shot of jar and outside base shot. The star measures 1&3/4"s from corner to corner with no Dots between star points, which does not match the description of the star base I found in red book. It says the star is 2 & 1/2 "s wide with dots between star points. This star is smaller with no dots. This is a half gallon size in what I would call a Granny Apple Green, the green is in between the darker & lighter photos shown, depending on the angle of camera to capture the wonderful details in the old jar. That being said this scarce old wax sealer is rude and crude with Extreme whittle and hammer peened glass. The groove ringed mouth is Crudely applied and has an amber streak running down it to shoulder as shown. There is a large bubble or two, which has on onion skin burst that can be felt on the inside, and also an extra swirl of glass that can be felt from the inside. Lastly it has nice thick wavy side seams. Any imperfections you see are not cracks, so if you love old unusual rare, crude wax sealers than this one could be for you.
