Description
SET OF 4 Dutch Onion Wine Bottles circa.1720-1730 Here are FOUR Wonderful Dutch Onion Wine Bottles circa.1720-1730, they all have slight different shades of Olive Green. These bottles are in fair condition and they are also smaller in size than normal onions. Starting from the left in the pictures: Onion #1 - 6 1/2" height x 4 1/4" base width, has one open bubble on the inside of the glass, and has 2-3 tiny chips on the lip. Onion #2 - 6 3/4" height x 4 1/4" base width, has one open seed bubble on the body, no chips. Onion #3 - 7 1/4" height x 4 1/4" base width, has an open bubble on the lower body. Onion #4 - 6 3/4" height x 4 1/8" base width, has one open bubble on the base, very nice shaped lip. They do have some surface scratching and wear as they have been rolling around on the bottom sea for 300 years! There are no cracks or stars on these bottles, only one has a few chips and the others have only one minor open bubble on each. Each of the bottles has an applied rim and a open-pipe pontil. This is a great onion collection. They were found in Guyana, South America in the Essequibo River. Thank You & Good Luck on your bids.
