Description
This is the top portion of a Locke CD 342 power insulator of which there are a relatively few known to exist. It has been broken and glued back together and does not come with the sleeve to make a complete assembly. There are more sleeves available than tops because the porcelain gutter tops also used the adjoining sleeve. It is embossed - "LOCKE PATENTS APR. 29. 1902 JUNE 7. 1898 NOV. 2 1896 / SEPT. 28. 1897 DEC. 15. 1896 APR. 30. 1891 // NO. 25". It has a little bite out of the umbrella and a couple of larger ones inside the pinhole. Some of the cement that was used to adhere to the pin is still in the pinhole. When these assemblies were sent to the filed, the top was separate from the sleeve and the pin and a packet was provided with the cement that was mixed with water and the assembly put together just before installation. I will sandwich this piece in between layers of foam to keep it intact (hopefully) for it's trek to your house. Low start! No reserve. I have 100% positive feedback so you can bid with confidence.
