Description
G.W.H. SAPPHIRE / COBALT BLUE APPLIED TOP MEDICINE OR CITRATE Here is a large and impressive colored circa 1860's western medicine that I dug in San Luis Obispo, California across from the old Mission in the summer of 1999. There is NO aqua color in this bottle only dark sapphire blue or light cobalt. Bottle is darker in color than the photographs show. This is your typical western glass that is just like the Fish's Infallible Hair Restorer or S.F. Ammonia bottles of the same era. This bottle is 7 1/2" tall and 2 3/4" around and is in close to mint condition with NO chips, cracks, pings, scratches, etc. Nice large square collar and super drippy applied top. There were 3 broken examples in the hole and this was the only example not broken. I have sold most of my western med collection off over the years but have been hanging on to this beautiful colored example and it is now time to let someone else enjoy this great piece of early glass. I have no idea who's initials that are embossed in the glass or what product this was and would like to hear from anyone out there that knows. Also, bottle has not been cleaned only rinsed out with water and looks great in it original form. This is the good, hard Pacific Coast Glass Works western glass that does not get sick thus the excellent condition after being found...Check out the pictures and good luck. Payment by check, MO or paypal is fine. Please add $10.00 for shipping. Insurance will be extra and up to the high bidder. Thanks-
