Description
E. E. DICKINSON'S WITCH HAZEL - ESSEX, CONN. began in the 1870's and the date on this particular bottle is 1933. Later, the Essex plant was shut down and merged with the E. Hampton group. T.N. Dickinson Sr. was a Baptist Minister who began his company around the Civil War and the company grew from there. He passed in 1900 but he had two sons, T.N. and E.E. Dickinson. E.E. is the son who took over the Essex Plant. The two had many 'ups and downs' between them but remained separate until the merge. Today you still can get two different types. E.E. (yellow label) and T.N. (green label) - both are now produced in E.Hampton. The ESSEX Location listed on this bottle has been closed many years now. I believe the dating on this bottle is 1933. This bottle is in excellent shape!!!! Near perfect condition!!! The label is in such wonderful condition that there is a glare on it in the picture from the sheen. There is complete directions in mint shape that can be seen through the back of the bottle. The directions are contained on the back of the label. There is 'ridging' on the sides of the bottle and numbering and logo on the bottom. If you know of any other details about this bottle - please let me know! E.E. Dickinson's Witch Hazel is still produced today from the E.Hampton plant. This bottle should not be confused with the current production. Please contact me with any questions!!! Also, this is a grand old bottle and worth insurance! I will include insurance in shipping at no extra cost to you! Precious things deserve precious care!!
