Description
KNSMOKEY'S  JARS   RARE - RARE - RARE   EXTREMELY NEAR MINT   DEEP AQUA BLUE COLORED   QUART SIZED   * * PATENT * * * * SEPT. 18. 1860 * *   WAX SEAL   CANNING FRUIT   MASON JAR          EVERYONE PLEASE READ - I DO NOT CHARGE ANYTHING FOR PACKING MATERIALS OR ANY KIND OF HANDLING FEE. I have no control whatsoever as to why the post office charges what it does. I use Priority Mail as it is the SAFEST & the MOST RELIABLE method (and I get the boxes for free, so I don't have to go hunting around town for them). So if you do not want to pay for the ACTUAL cost of my shipping method - then I am kindly asking you to not bid on my auctions. Sorry for any inconvience that some of you may feel about this. knsmokey.   Hello Everyone!  You are looking at a VERY RARE & TOP NOTCH EXAMPLE - of a quart sized, blown in the mold, wax seal fruit jar (thats mouth was formed by downward pressure on the blowpipe while it was still hot in the mold), with a VERY NEAR PERFECT thick ground mouth (with just 1 little nip, as seen)... that is an UNUSUAL & ATTRACTIVE deep aqua blue in color (according to my reference materials, most were in aqua green :-)!  This jar is is blue - I assure you... but for some reason my pictures make it look green, it IS NOT.  It is jar #2295 in the Red Book #10, circa the 1860's (made by Hemingray Bros. & Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio & Covington, Kentucky) - and is a jar that is RARELY seen for sale... especially in this kind of condition! The jar is EXTREMELY WELL EMBOSSED (not usually the case, as most are weakly struck) with, "PATENT" over "SEPT. 18. 1860"... please see the pictures!  The base of the jar shows only minor signs of shelf wear (which again is RARE for an old wax sealer such as this) - has a swirly look to it & is embossed with a small "x" in its center... again please see the pictures!  The jar has looks SPECTACULAR in a sunlit window or display - and would be the PRIDE & JOY of anyones collection... GUARANTEED!  It will come with a reproduction, metal wax sealer lid - & is ready to be CHERISHED & PROUDLY displayed! Best of all is the jars condition... it is EXTREMELY NEAR MINT!  There is a spattering of light haze (mainly in the base) that can only be seen by holding it up to the light & a few EXTREMELY MINOR scuff/rub marks, (and I mean EXTREMELY MINOR), that are to be expected on any used canning jar of age - NOT BAD AT ALL in my opinion... and that I am only mentioning for accuracy :-).  THAT'S IT!  Absolutely no other chips or cracks of any kind - and it is CLEAN to boot!  So here is a VERY RARE, MINT CONDITIONED... WAX SEALER JAR - offered here today with NO RESERVE!  So what are you waiting for?  You have to admit... IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT!  I seriously doubt that you'll find a NICER JAR than this - so don't wait... add it to your collection today!  YOU WILL BE MORE THAN PLEASED WITH THIS EXCEPTIONAL JAR - I GUARANTEE IT!  Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding!! Money Orders or Cashiers Checks prefered - but Personal Checks accepted. Sorry... but NO PAY-PAL. Payment is required within 10 days. Item shipped same day or next... if paid for by Money Order or Cashiers Check. If paying by Personal Check your item will be held up to 10 business days before shipping (for clearance at my bank) - I'm sorry for this... but too many bad checks has made this necessary. I ship to United States & Canada ONLY. Priority Mail is my only shipping method in the United States. USPS Airmail Letter/Parcel Post is used for Canada (depending on weight of package). Insurance is REQUIRED on all purchases over $25.00 - if under $25.00 it is optional. Combined shipping is available for ONLY up to 2 jars (due to USPS outrageous over sized box charges), unless you are fully willing to pay for the oversized shipping amount - I am very sorry about this, but I have no choice. ONLY ACTUAL USPS COSTS CHARGED... NO HANDLING FEES OR SHIPPING MATERIAL COSTS. I offer a *NO QUESTIONS ASKED - HASSLE FREE* return policy on all my items!  If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, just return it to me in the same condition it was shipped & I will refund your money... less shipping costs :-).
