Description
Vintage 1950's Galaxy Syrup Spaceman Bank Bottle  - Space Retro -  Space Food Co. I am offering for auction a Vintage 1950's Food Jar from the Space Food Company of Baltimore Maryland. It is my understanding that this company had gone bankrupt. This one bottle was part of a series of spaceman themed bank bottles.  Very little information is available on this bottle and I would appreciate any help from bidders viewing this auction. This glass bottle stands 8 1/2" tall and is 3 1/2" X 2" at the base. It weighs between 15 and 16 ounces. On the front is written in Blue and White "Asteroid Command", "Galaxy" and "Saturn". On the back is also written "Galaxy" in Blue and White. Above this, are 2 'jet packs' with the words "rocket" and Jets" raised on the glass. This is a spcaeman with a holster and what appears to be a drawn laser gun in his left hand (left side of bottle). On the bottom is raised 'Cont. 16 Fld Ozs" "Des Pat Pending & Reg." "Space Food Co Balto MD" I was a child of the 60's and just knew this bottle was influenced by the U.S. space program which was so previlent during that period. I have no idea what the contents was. A guess, syrup. I'm not sure. It is missing the bottle cap. The paint is is perfect condition and there are no chips. This would certainly make a great addition to ant Space or bottle collection. Good luck to all bidders and please check out the other auctions offered by Mangomart. This auction has no reserve.
