Description
I honestly don't know what I have here. It is definitely a light, the ceramic light socket is marked 660W 250V MADE IN USA. The socket is inside a large and heavy green ceramic/porcelain body. On the sides of the body are brass hangers with bolts where the power line would make contact and then continue as to not break the circuit. I guess it would be an inline light. There are two bolts on each side. The light socket is housed inside a brown porcelain/ceramic cup. The whole unit is 8" tall and 6 3/4" in diameter. On the rim there are three brass bolts and a felt liner. I would guess this is where a globe of some sort would have bolted on. Take a good look at the pictures and if you have any questions feel free to ask. There are no cracks or chips on this. The white spot on the brown light socket is where it didn't take the glaze. There are still a couple of pieces of wire in it where they where cliped off. This weighs 9lbs but packaged should be around 11 lbs, so shipping is a little high. I had a fellow ebayer offer this information: This is a street light head, possibly Joslyn manufacture, circa l950. It would have had a cast iron canopy on top for mounting, and any number of different stlye reflectors could be mounted on the bottom flange, typically the wave type open relflectors seen so often in small towns. These were used on high voltage series street lighting circuits, this accounts for the porcelain insulator and the shorting clips, pull out socket, etc. Just thought maybe you could use the info   Check out my other items!             !!!PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS BELOW!!! Local pickup is welcome. I will combine shipping on multiple items won. I almost always offer two shipping options, usually Priority and Parcel Post. If you choose Parcel Post don't expect it to get there very fast. I have had some take up to two or three weeks to arrive but they have always made it. If you want a fast and sure thing choose Priority, it will be there in two - three days and is usually handled with more care. See shipping calculator below for shipping rates and options. If you have any questions about the item or shipping please feel free to ask. I always offer insurance as an option, if you choose not to purchase insurance I will not be responsible for lost or damaged goods. If for some reason there is no insurance offered, contact me and I will add it for you. PLEASE USE THE EBAY CHECKOUT, that lets me know that you are sending payment and also lets me know you're not waiting for me to send you an invoice as I do not send out invoices unless you request one.
