Description BID NOW on this NO RESERVE auction, and you could win a DRUG STORE JAR made by WHITALL TATUM CO.      The WHITALL,TATUM CO. was a glass factory operated in Millwille N.J. from 1806 through 1938 under a variety of names.   The name WHITALL TATUM  CO.  was used from 1901 until 1938.  The company is well known for collectible insulators and medicine bottles.    This jar came from a sale at an old drugstore.  It is about 8” tall, 3-1/4” in diameter and has a ground rim.  The is 4-1/2” in diameter, embossed with “WHITALL TATUM CO. PHILADELPHIA   NEW YORK , PAT JUNE 11th 1895.  There is a cast metal fastener which hooks under the lip and has a screw that tightens to hold the lid on.  I’ve never seen anything like it.   There are several lines in the glass.  One, on the rim, seems to be an internal crack, but I can’t feel anything on the surface.  The others lines look more like mold marks.   The bottom has a rough pontil-like mark, with a depression.    I’m not a glass collector, so I don’t know what else to say about this unusual item.  If you would like to see larger images or have any questions, send me an e-mail.  I typically reply within 24 hours, so allow enough time before the auction closes.     There is a 100% money-back warranty if you are not satisfied.  Notification within 7 days of receipt, prior authorization and proper packaging are required for any return.  If I made a mistake in description or packaging, I will pay return freight.  If you just decide you don’t like the item, you can pay the return freight.     Please see my other auctions.  I am glad to combine items to save shipping costs.
