Description
antique liquor bottle from the 1930's. "A Maidservant Pouring Milk" - This is a wonderful collectors item because you cannot find anything like this made today. this was discovered in my grandmothers basement after she died and my understanding is that she had it appraised for $200. description from the back of the bottle: Artist named Vermeer (1632 - 1675) - Vermeer's entire life was spent in Delft. His fame has emerged this last hundred years, after two centuries in which he was completely forgotten. About 36 pictures of his remain, studies from life or actual places, characterized by the delicacy of his handling of light and color. A Maidservant Pouring Milk shows how the artist can portray visually the quiet solitude and earnestness of his subject. It is recognized as one of Vermeer's masterpieces.
