It stands roughly 9 inches tall. It has a partially entact label advertising Hostetter's Celebrated Stomach Bitters, and showing a roman figure on a horse. There is a lot of loss to the label, as I have tried to show in the photos. The back of this bottle has a black label which is partially missing, but has the same advertising words as the front, but without the man on a horse. The very bottom of this label has a date of 1857 by which it was patented According to an act of Congress. The bottle has a cork in the top, but also contains what I believe is the original cork on the inside bottom. The bottle is embossed on one side with the words:Dr J Hostetter's Stomach Bitters. On the bottom of the bottle is an indented circle embossed with L&W. Although my camera was unable to show it in the photos, this bottle has early bubbles in the glass. Despite the loss to the front and back labels, I believe this is a highly desirable and collectible bottle. I am starting it at $8.00 with no reserve.
